This is a macro shot of a bar of soap and the bubbles attached to it. Randomly, I had the idea for this while taking a shower. The details in the bubbles are pretty interesting, bubbles within bubbles!
This day was my dog's birthday so I took her to the beach as it's one of her favorite places to go. We also went to Seaside Heights which is the town in which Jersey Shore is filmed. It's the location of the roller coaster that collapsed from the pier into the ocean. The place is now a ghost town with state the only people there right now are state troopers and a limited number of construction people dismantling destroyed buildings and the board walk. There weren't any places to legally get a shot of the roller coaster, so this is the shot I got, a police officer standing in front of piles of debris.
This shot was very easy, this Cooper's Hawk landed on a tree branch outside my office window and sat there for about 2 minutes. I quickly grabbed the 500mm and got this shot. I wanted to get a tight shot of him taking off, but I missed it while changing out to different gear.
I got a new lens, the Canon 16-35 f/2.8L II, and this was just a test shot down at the boathouse of the Washington Road bridge. I like the clouds.
One of the biggest culture changes in moving to the east coast is grocery shopping. There seem to be much fewer grocery stores per capita so there are always massive lines. This Trader Joe's had about 100 people waiting to check out.
This is just a view near sunset looking straight up at the trees in my backyard. Just thought it had some interesting lines.
