Cold weather finally arrived in New Jersey after quite a bit rain, so some of the puddles in my front yard froze over. Here's a detail shot of some cracks in the ice.
Took the dog on a walk to Mercer Lake to see if there was any interesting birds or turtles but it was mid-day and very windy so didn't see any wildlife. Captured this shot of some of the tall grass blowing in the wind.
Similar to the day before, took the dog for a walk with the camera to see what I could find, this time to Carnegie Lake and found a few trees that had recently been chewed down by a beaver. I like the texture of the stump and the leftover scraps.
There's lots of interesting architecture on the campus at Princeton University, this shot is a close up shot of some of the spires on one of the buildings. Very late afternoon light with the 500mm lens to get in nice and tight.
Had some great light as the sun was setting and took this shot of the Princeton boathouse. This is an HDR image to help pull out the detail in both the clouds, boathouse, and the ice. It was VERY cold outside today, so the ice is new and gives a nice reflection and texture. This shot of the boathouse from the bridge will likely be a recurring shot in this project as it's very close to my house and it's a great place to shoot from.
Great shot. I'm not a cold weather fan so I haven't thought much about the boathouse. I may just have to take my camera out this weekend.
