I had an afternoon off, so Alta and I drove out to one of my favorite areas on the Oregon coast to see if we could get some good light at a spot I hadn't photographed before; Devil's Churn. Devil's Churn is a narrow inlet of ocean in a very rocky section of Cape Perpetua just south of the town of Yachats. It's about an hours drive from Corvallis and while the valley was pretty cloudy, the forecast at the coast looked good. Devil's Churn is a nice state park with quite a few options for hiking and tidepooling, but my goal was a slow shutter speed shot at sunset. Things looked pretty promising but a cloud bank moved over the horizon around sunset so it was pretty muted but I still sort of like this shot.
